Sustainability Reporting: What's Next?

2025 marks a pivotal moment for sustainable reporting. Here's what you need to know to stay ahead:

  • Climate Disclosures in Switzerland
The Swiss Federal Council has proposed amendments to the Ordinance on Climate Disclosures, aligning with global standards such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). These changes will include to provide clear pathways to net-zero by 2050 and introduce machine-readable formats. Expected to take effect in January 2026, this will redefine transparency. Stay tuned for updates as the consultation progresses (open until March 21, 2025).
  • Double Materiality in action
The first reports under European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) are due this year. Double materiality is central to this shift, balancing financial and sustainability impacts. This summer, we will showcase best practices, from exemplary double materiality matrices to strategies for conducting thorough assessments.
  • GRI Reporting: Join our certified GRI Standard Trainings
As the most widely adopted standard, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) continues to evolve. New updates, such as GRI’s Science Based Targets initiative for Forest, Land, and Agriculture (SBTi FLAG), are setting the stage for better climate and environmental reporting. Whether you’re a newcomer or an expert, our Certified GRI Standard Trainings will empower you with the tools to elevate your sustainability journey.
  • (IR) Reporting and Connectivity
Integrated Reporting (IR) emphasizes the connection between financial and sustainability aspects. We help companies communicate their holistic strategy effectively to stakeholders, ensuring reports are more than just compliance documents – they tell a compelling story.
  • EFRAG’s New Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)
For non-listed SMEs, the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) has introduced voluntary sustainability standards to foster a more inclusive economy. If you’re looking to prepare for future sustainability challenges, we’re here to guide you.
